When to Book Your Stay at Oak Island Resort
The Oak Island Resort is available for bookings all year round. It is important to highlight that booking a summer stay is no easy task—rooms are booked solid most weekends and even weekdays. If you’re planning to visit, especially in the summer, I recommend booking months in advance to secure your spot
The Oak Island Resort Experience
Upon arriving at Oak Island Resort, I was blown away with how captivating and beautiful the resort is. As someone who was visiting for a babymoon, it was really warm to notice the family-friendly atmosphere as I immediately felt at ease seeing other families and even a few other pregnant women around the resort. It was comforting to know we weren’t alone in this life stage, which made the environment feel more inclusive and relaxed.
It is the perfect location for water lovers as you can go kayaking, enjoy paddle boat or take a boat tour of Oak Island. For those looking to stay active, there are numerous recreational options including a fitness center, tennis court, mini-golf, and much more.
The staff at Oak Island Resort deserve special mention. From check-in to our departure, they were friendly and always ready to assist, whether we needed extra towels or local recommendations. This level of service really stood out and made our stay feel even more special.
One of my unexpected highlights was playing tic-tac-toe in the resort’s lobby. The resort offers simple activities like this that add a touch of nostalgia and fun to your stay. It’s not something I would normally do, but it was a nice way to unwind and enjoy a few light-hearted moments.
The resort offers multiple rooms with varying views and preferences and we booked a room with a land view which was perfect as it allowed us appreciate the dining experience that came with beach view.
The Dining Experience
The dining options include the Oak and Oar Restaurant and Three Sheets Bar + Social, where you can enjoy local flavors and catch live entertainment. I found myself eating more at the Oak and Oar because of the stunning view from the terrace showcasing water and the amenities at the resort. Oak and Oar also has stunning terrace sitting – outdoor eating experience with both breakfast and dinner options.
Activities on site and off-site
Oak Island Resort offers a wide range of activities that make it easy to enjoy your stay without venturing far. Though I did not get up to much activities while on site, there are tinnes of activities if you want to stay active or you simply want to relax.
There are numerous recreational options including a fitness center, tennis court, mini-golf, and a multi-sport pad that accommodates activities like soccer, badminton, and volleyball. Water enthusiasts will appreciate the chance to kayak or try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and for a more relaxed experience, the indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, and bonfires provide great opportunities to unwind.
Beyond outdoor fun, Oak Island Resort offers several amenities to keep guests entertained year-round. For those with a sense of adventure, the resort provides fat bike and regular bike rentals, as well as access to the scenic Rum Runner’s Trail. Additionally, one of the resort’s unique highlights is the boat tours of the legendary Oak Island, home to the world’s longest-running treasure hunt. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure or a cozy night by the fire, Oak Island Resort ensures a memorable experience for every type of traveler.
Oak Island Resort is not only packed with on-site activities but also ideally located for those looking to explore nearby attractions. Just 20 minutes away, you’ll find the charming towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, both offering a glimpse into Nova Scotia’s rich maritime history. This perfectly complements the resort’s activities, giving you a well-rounded Nova Scotia experience.
Overall, Oak Island Resort was a wonderful place to spend our babymoon. The family-friendly environment, coupled with the attentive staff, made it an enjoyable getaway.
